Skin cancer nurse/dermoscopist

Skin Clinic Taranaki is looking for an experienced skin cancer nurse/dermoscopist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a modern, supportive environment where high-quality clinical care, innovation, and patient experience are all highly valued.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a specialist nursing role focused on procedural support, wound care, skin assessment and patient education and follow-up. You’ll be involved in:
- Assisting with punch biopsies, shave biopsies, and skin cancer excisions
- Cryotherapy treatment
- Wound care, suture removal and follow-up
- Coordinating skin procedure bookings and histology tracking
- Educating patients about sun safety, skin cancer prevention, and self-monitoring
- Dermoscopy-assisted skin assessment/Mole Mapping (training supported if needed)
This role offers a great mix of hands-on clinical work, patient interaction, and service development.
ABOUT YOU
You will be:
A registered nurse with current NZ APC
- Confident in procedural nursing and sterile technique
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Warm, calm, and excellent with patients
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with clinicians
Ideally you’ll also have (but contact us if you are willing to learn):
- Experience in skin cancer, minor surgery, dermatology or primary care
- Dermoscopy experience (or enthusiasm to learn)
- Strong wound care skills
